I'm looking on how to create a data file from the output with the normal direction of all the elements related to their area, in order to evaluate the resulting direction of all the structure (shell).

Hello everybody,

I'm working on a model in which I have pressure field and a shell that's not normal to the field. How should I model the load?

I tried to create a pressure field in the direction I want but the intensity of the field on my shell results increasing from the origin to the surface's end (when it should be constant). Did I model something wrong?

An other way to model this should be to split the pressure in normal (that means simple normal pressure) and tangential (that means cutting force).
Make this sense?

What is the best way to solve this problem according to you?

this error means that you have highly and badly deformed elements, you can locate those elements and try meshing your model with other mesh techniques or use remeshing methods.
Also, could you shear the inp file so we can talk in more details.

I actually did not get your question, what do you mean by " the blank makes up the holder". could you give us more information and also could you upload the inp file?

hello every one, can you help me please , i simulate the channel forming processs (there are an example of this process in the help of abaqus ), the problem is when i decrease the holder force  fo example (5KN), the blank makes up the holder and the blank has not defomed well. i want to know how eliminate this problem.

there are several ways to simulate this problem.
create a 3d structure of the steel within the other part and use proper friction condition which should probably include coulomb friction, yield, damage and etc.
create the steel as wire features and add a connector with proper properties
use stringer and embed the steels into the other part and apply proper properties
use any combination of the above list.

I don't see the picture you mentioned, could you please upload it again, anyway, I will try to help you. one of the ways could be this: 1) create the first part (e.g. the rectangular part) with your desired depth ( use creat part icon in the part module), 2) using the "create solid:extrude" in the part module add the second section of the part (like the cylindrical part) to it.

I am a Beginner in abaqus and
I am trying to create a 3D solid model with different extrusion depths(perpendicular to screen) as shown in the image . The way I was trying to do is:
I created a rectangular solid by extrusion depth of 5e-3mm . And then, I split the central cyclinder with a radius of 2.25mm. But I need the central cyclindrical part only to be of extrusion depth of 10e-3mm and the rest be of 5e-3mm. How can I achieve two cells of different extrusion depth in 3D solid Model?

Good evening Mr./Miss

I am a visiting researcher at the University of Sheffield in the Structural Eng.Department,I am a new member and am happy to participate actively in the forum helping those in need.   
After the laboratory tests, with MTS (tensile test), I would like to model SRG (Steel reinforced ground) with every single steel wire, so as to study how the transmission of the stresses depends by the anchoring length (over lap) of  differents layers of Steel. Modeling SRG as single strands/wire (solid element in Abaqus) how can I model their interaction with the mortar? The best way is to create a ''bond-slip realation'' between the surface of the wires (solid in abaqus) and the surface of the mortar in the Interaction module of Abaqus?

What do you think? obviously the type of model will have to be validated by the results of the experiments.
I thought that "embedded constraints" did not describe the small sliding that is created between steel and mortar in the tensile test before breaking.

PS I generally homogenized the 2 material2 or described the composite as a sheet, but  now it is not possible otherwise I would ignore the anchoring length.

Check your dof, your model probably is not constraint properly
